Neuropsychological testing is a way to measure the cognitive skills of a person. It is used to assess the mental condition of people who have suffered from brain injury, stroke, or other neurological conditions. These types of tests are generally used to measure a person’s psychological function — those known to be linked to a particular brain structure or neural pathway.
We offer testing for Dementia, Parkinsons, Depression, Anxiety, and ADHD.
The data obtained from a Neuropsychological test can then be used for research as well as diagnosis. The most beneficial factor of Neuropsychological testing is that it ultimately provides a fact-based accurate diagnosis of a disorder.
The most common types of neuropsychological tests are:
- Cognitive assessment
- Memory assessment
- Language assessment
- Motor skills assessment
- Social skills assessment
Preparing for your neuropsychological test
Your actions on the day before your test can affect the results. That’s why it’s important to take good care of yourself before the test. For example, avoid alcohol or other intoxicating substances the night before your test. It is important to prepare yourself for the emotions you may feel and remember that we are here to help you, not judge you. On the day of the test, make sure to bring any final questions, a list of medications, photo identification, and insurance card (if applicable).
